Rubber trees were planted in the northern mountainous provinces, first in Son La, then further developed in Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Yen Bai, and Ha Giang.

Started planting rubber in the Kingdom of Cambodia according to the agreement signed between the two governments of Vietnam and Cambodia

The Government decided to establish the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group.

Started planting rubber in Lao PDR according to the agreement signed between the two governments of Vietnam and Laos.

In 1995, it was a special-class State Corporation according to Decision 91/TTg.
1983
Implement the policy of the Council of Ministers on developing rubber trees in the Central Highlands provinces according to the model of “Mother hen laying chicks”.

Implement the cooperation program to plant 50,000 hectares of new rubber with the Soviet Union according to the decree signed by the two governments.

In 1989, it was transformed into the General Rubber Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

In March 1980, it was transformed into the General Department of Rubber under the Council of Ministers with two functions: State management of rubber and organization of rubber production.

The predecessor was the Southern Rubber Board, in April 1975 it was transformed into the General Department of Rubber under the Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam.

July 1977 transformed into Vietnam Rubber Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture
